ADSA BURSARY ONLINE APPLICATIONS 2023

 


DESCRIPTION

The Association For Diabetics In South Africa (ADSA) awards undergraduate applicants with diabetes the ADSA Bursary. Before or on December 1, 2022, all applications for the ADSA bursary must be received. Late applications are not processed. 

The major goal of the bursary is to give underprivileged people who might not have otherwise had the chance to study dietetics the opportunity to do so.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In order for ADSA to evaluate your application for a 2023 bursary, you must fulfill the requirements listed below:

  • You must be in or have completed first year dietetics (must not be in second year of study yet). Postgraduate applicants (MSc and PhD) are not eligible for this bursary. 
  • You must be able to demonstrate financial neediness by the income of both parents or proof of lack thereof. 
  • You must possess passion for food science and health issues shown by a motivation letter written by the student. 
  • Possess leadership skills demonstrated by participation at school. 
  • Must be a South African Citizen. Will be required to work in SA for at least the same time duration as that covered by the ADSA bursary (excluding community service year), and must be an active member of ADSA at their local branch for the same period.

WHAT THE BURSARY COVERS

Successful applicants who get granted the bursary will have the following cost paid for by ADSA:

  • Registration
  • Tuition
  • Accommodation and 
  • Books up to a prescribed amount per year

Bursary funds get paid directly into your institution account where the bursar is enrolled. The bursary is extended for the 3 remaining years of your study.
