DESCRIPTION
Bursaries are made available by the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PPSA) through the Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (FPE) (FPE). The charity works to support and manage scholarships for pharmacy undergraduate study. Funding applicants must be enrolled at one of South Africa's accredited institutes of higher learning. You must be on your second year of your studies in order to be considered for the PPSA bursary funding for 2023.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- You must be a South Africa student from the second year upwards
- Do not apply of you are a first year student
- You must be doing only one academic programme
- Be a South Africa
- Be prepared to submit your bursary application each year (renewal)
Application Criteria (Undergraduate)
- You combined family income must be below R130 000 per year in order for your application to be considered. This is before taxation.
- You must achieve a pass average of at least 60% on all your subjects. This is weighed under your academic performance assessement.
- The bursary allocation may be according to the dictate of individual sponsor (PPSA member). Members may also gove consent to the foundation to allocate funding.
- The funding decision made by PPSA member or the foundation itself is final.
- In case the bursary beneficiary ceases to study for whatever reasons, all monies paid by the PPSA member or the foundation itself become payable back immediately. This applies also if the recipient of the bursary fail to meet agreed upon academic performance.
- The bursary payments will be made directly to the recognised institution of higher learning.
- No bursary payments will be made into the beneficiary personal banking account.
- No payments will be made in cash at any stage
- If during the period the recipient receives funding from PSSA, another bursary is awarded to the same recipient, the FPE foundation must be informed immediately in a letter providing full details about the other bursary
POSTGRADUATE BURSARY CRITERIA
- Postgraduate bursaries are awarded to applicants who have successfully completed undergraduate studies.

- You must be enrolled for your postgraduate studies in any recognized institution of higher learning within the boarders of South Africa

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
When returning your complete application form, remember to attach the following documents to support your application:
- Certified copy of your ID
- Certified copy of your full academic record
- Certified copies of your proof of income
- Summary of a project, included must be your research project summary 800 words maximum
- Project budget (itemised)
