DESCRIPTION

A difficult opening for a Labour Relations Practitioner now exists in the Parks Division. The chosen candidate will be in charge of the parks' labor relations. The chosen applicant will work out of the Frontier Regional Office in Port Elizabeth and report to the manager of labor relations.

There is NO accomodation in the Park, therefore you must provide your own lodging and transportation.

Based on the pay scale for a position, the basic wage is part of the compensation package. With a Paterson C4 employment grade and the allowances and benefits detailed in the SANParks HR Tariff Document.

The appointment will follow the goals of the EE strategy.

·         Diploma in Human Resources Management

·         3 to 4 years of relevant experience

·         Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Packages

·         All labour relations Policies and Standard Operation Procedures

·         CCMA rules and regulations

·         Labour legislation and related regulations

·         Valid Code 08 driver's license

               RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Provide operational support relating to grievance resolution activities and processes

·         Monitor the utilisation of the disciplinary and grievance procedures

·         Handle disciplinary, grievance and CCMA processes based on best practice

·         Attend and provide advice on disciplinary, grievance hearings

·         Attend and defend SANParks at CCMA conciliation and arbitration hearings

·         Follow through with clients' enquiries and give feedback, requests and complaints in a timely manner

·         Advise clients about the status of issues or progress of disciplinary and grievance cases

·         Monitor compliance to stipulated time frames to the Disciplinary and Grievance Standard Operating Procedures

·         Monitor compliance with collective agreements

·         Provide advisory service based on best practice

·         Capture and update all disciplinary and grievance actions on the appropriate HCM database

·         Ensure documentation and storage of all information

·         Maintain clear communication and update clients on continuous basis

·         Manage relationships with stakeholders

·         Coordinate and conduct in-house labour training and information sharing sessions

·         Research and advice on labour and employment relations matters

·         Attend internal stakeholders' meetings (management and shop steward meetings)

·         Filling records in a manual system

·         Compile/paginate CCMA bundles for each case

·         Procuring stationary for the section

·         Coordinate labour relations related logistics in general

·         Administer, monitor, track and compile trade union membership reconciliation report

·         Analysing numerical information and analysing written information
